Minnesota Election Action Plan

The ACLU of Minnesota and our national office have been hard at work analyzing election scenarios and potential impacts on civil liberties. As part of this work the ACLU-MN has been meeting with state elected officials to strengthen Minnesota’s firewall against civil rights violations and remind our leaders of the unique position the ACLU-MN can and does play in this work.

In order to reach the most Minnesotans to best ensure our civil freedoms are protected this November and beyond, we need everyone's help. Below is a list of ways the ACLU-MN, volunteers and community partners are working to defend democracy in Minnesota and beyond. This is also an invitation to you to join us in this crucial work.

The ACLU-MN is working with partner organizations to support non-partisan election protection that provides the first line of defense against restrictive election day practices, changes to polling locations or procedures, or anything else that could prevent a citizen from voting. Activities include:

  • Poll monitoring, including mobile and roving monitor teams
  • Staffing a rapid response hotline with volunteer election attorneys. Individuals in need of immediate support can call 866-OUR-VOTE
