Join Us at the 2018 ACLU Membership Conference!

Are you between the ages of 18-23? Do you have a passion for civil liberties and improving your community? ACLU of Minnesota is excited to lead a bus of young people (ages 18-23) to Washington, D.C. for the 2018 ACLU Membership Conference. The conference runs from June 10-12 in Washington, D.C.

You’ll hear from an outstanding group of speakers, including:

• Representative John Lewis, member of Congress and former Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC)
• Senator Elizabeth Warren, member of Congress
• Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund
• Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter
• Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative

You’ll also receive training to become an even more effective changemaker and activist in your community – and meet with your members of Congress to put your advocacy skills to work. You’ll connect with other ACLU members from around the country to exchange ideas and plot our next moves to fight for our rights and freedoms. We have a limited number of spots available on our bus to Washington, D.C. for young leaders in Minnesota, ages 18-23. The bus will leave St. Paul on Saturday, June 9 and will arrive in D.C. on Sunday, June 10. Participants will pay a reduced registration fee of $100, and the trip includes bus fare to and from St. Paul to Washington, D.C., two nights of lodging at Howard University, and select meals at the conference. Participants are responsible for some meals (including on the bus) and recreational activities. The bus will leave D.C. on Tuesday, June 12 and arrive back in St. Paul on Wednesday, June 13. More details will be provided on acceptance of your application.
