We know you have questions about your rights and liberties during this frightening, frustrating time. That's why we created ACLU-MN Office Hours, a virtual event that allows you to drop in and get your most pressing questions answered by one of our staff experts.
This week, we'll be dropping in on Staff Attorney Ian Bratlie and Equal Justice Works Fellow* Paul Dimick, who can answer questions like:
- What tools does the ACLU-MN use to get immigrants released from detention, and how has COVID-19 affected that work?
- How can we make sure that enforcement of the Stay at Home order does not disproportionately target immigrants and BIPOC, especially in Southern Minnesota?
- What is the relationship between the ACLU-MN's legal arm and its organizing arm? What can we accomplish working through the legal system that can't be accomplished through organizing?
Tune into Facebook Live on Thursday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. to ask your questions live. If you can't watch live, drop your questions in the comments below, and come back later to watch the video and hear Ian and Paul respond to your concerns.
* The Equal Justice Works Fellowshop is sponsored by Allen I. Saeks PA and the Family of Hyman Edelman.
