Raleigh Levine (she/her)

Raleigh has worked with the ACLU throughout her career as a civil liberties advocate. After she graduated from Stanford Law School and clerked on the Ninth Circuit, Raleigh’s first litigation job was a First Amendment fellowship with the ACLU of Southern California. She then worked with the ACLU-SoCal as a cooperating attorney, litigating First Amendment and Election Law cases. Since she moved to Minnesota to become a law professor at Mitchell Hamline, teaching Constitutional Law, Election Law, Media Law, and Tort Law, she’s served continuously on the ACLU-MN Boards, including her current stint as Foundation Board Chair, excepting term-limit-dictated absences.

Raleigh has just returned to teaching after taking a 3½-year sabbatical/leave-of-absence to lead TikTok and Amazon Web Services teams developing global content moderation policies on mis/disinformation, GenAI, and deepfakes; election integrity; terrorist/violent extremist content; hate speech; cyberbullying/harassment; and image-based sexual abuse. Raleigh is excited to share her newfound tech policy knowledge with the ACLU-MN, as well as her experience on the boards of the Infinity Project, whose mission is to increase gender diversity on the Eighth Circuit state and federal benches, and the Society of American Law Teachers, whose mission is to advance social justice and diversity and expand under-served communities’ legal power.
