Pantsuit Nation Takeover

We're taking over Pantsuit Nation's social media on Friday, June 19, to mark the significance of the Juneteenth holiday and discuss our vision for the future of criminal justice in this country.

The emancipation of people who were enslaved in the United States is a monumental moment in our history, and in the histories of Black communities in particular. The national shame of slavery still lingers in our criminal legal system, especially in modern policing and mass incarceration. We saw this racist legacy clearly in the murder of George Floyd by police on a street corner here in Minneapolis.

As we mark Juneteenth with our friends at Pantsuit Nation, we want to draw attention to the work that we all must do to move this country out of the traumatic shadow of slavery into a new world where everyone truly is equal.
